The town kept growing in the valley of Remete patak (Séd patak) in the lap of hills of Szekszárd and the Great Plain. From Budapest you can reach our city easily by the M6 motorway.
You can visit many cultural monuments and historic buildings in Szekszárd as the church at the Béla place, County Hall, wine well, German theatre, old synagogue, house of art, viewpoint.
You should look the region of Szekszárd too. We certainly recommend you trips or organize bicycle tours in Gemenc forest. You can also use our bicycles.
The Gemenc forest that spreads in the floodplain of the Danube, is one of the most important natural monument of Hungary. The forest is an important hunting ground of the country. You can reach the forest on foot or with a little railway, with horse, with a private horse-drawn carriage and also by motorboat.

The Szekszárd Grape Harvest Festival is the largest event in the city every year.
This event brings life into the quiet little town. Concerts, shows and a large pageant is also organized. Of course you can taste wines at the Béla square during the festival.
